The Film
In the late 1800s, two men looked at the grievances of the Industrial Revolution and formed two solutions. Their answers were immensely different because they had opposing worldviews. Karl Marx answered with the abolition of God and revolution. Marx believed in human goodness and asserted humans alone could solve this problem. By comparison, Moody proposed a twin-pronged response. First, Moody saw the problem as ultimately a matter of human sinfulness demanding a divine solution and redoubled efforts to evangelize urban workers. Second, he believed all Christians were required to address the needs of the poor, so he organized multiple schemes to practically address social ills.
Featuring Dr. Erwin Lutzer, Dr. Gregg Quiggle, and Dr. James Spencer, “Marx and Moody: Clash of Worldviews” traces both men from their unique beginnings to their vastly different legacies and answers the question, “What is the proper response to injustice?”
